All the attendees of the ceremonial meeting were offered a tour around the Presidential library during which they visited two exhibitions. One of them has been organized by the library’s staff in co-operation with the Leningrad Oblast prosecutor’s office. It is devoted to the history of development of prosecutors’ institution. The second one, a virtual one, displays historical portraits of the majority of Russian attorneys-general. |

The first round of the “Russia in the electronic world” Olympiad of the Presidential Library is completed. The public relations service of the library informed the “Baltinfo” that the second round will be attended by the senior high school students and students of the primary and secondary vocational schools from fifty four regions of the Russian Federation. The second round of the “Russia in the electronic world” Olympiad is held from December 19, 2011 to January 30, 2012. The participants who will gain the greatest number of points will be invited to St. Petersburg. The Presidential Library will host the final round and the awarding ceremony for winners. |

The students of the federal university of Archangelsk will now have an opportunity to use resources of the Presidential Library of St. Petersburg. Today the North Arctic Federal University presented the Electronic Reading Room whose visitors will gain access to the resources of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library of St. Petersburg. Digital libraries of Russia and Germany have agreed on information exchange
Two largest digital libraries of Russia and Federal Republic of Germany have agreed on cooperation. In the end of June they will sign an agreement under which the libraries will exchange information about the Russian history. Two leading digital libraries of Russia and Federal Republic of Germany – the Bavarian State Library and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library are going to conclude an agreement on cooperation. The document will be signed 28 June in Munich by Directors General of the libraries, Rolf Griebel and Alexander Vershinin in the presence of Andrei Grozov, reported the German party on Tuesday, 21 June. As a part of the agreement, the largest digital libraries of Russia and Germany will exchange information on digital carriers treating of Russian history. |

The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library in St. Petersburg has held a scientific conference "The idea of the legal state in Russia: History and Modernity ", marking the 150th birthday anniversary of P. A. Stolypin. Participants discussed the possibility of using the experience of the law reformation to strengthen the modern legal state. The plenary session was opened by the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Alexander Konovalov. He stressed that now, the same way as in early 20th century, the country faces the problem of modernization of all spheres of economic and social life, and therefore the mechanisms of law making and enforcement should be improved.
