Presidential Library’s video materials present History of Russia from Vladimir Monomakh to the present time

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the broadcast program from May 25 to 29, each user has the opportunity to learn more about Vladimir Monomakh and the laws that were in force during his reign, take a look at the Battle of the Ice from the East and West, visit the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Mirozh Monastery and the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin of the Novgorod Anthony Monastery and see the unique murals of the 12th century that have been preserved in both churches.

The film "Preservation of Cultural Heritage" is dedicated to one of the pressing topics - the preservation of cultural heritage in digital form. People have always sought to store and transmit information, gradually developing technologies for its storage. One way to extend the life of a document is to digitize it.

Varied program in connection with the 11th anniversary of the Presidential Library, the All-Russian Day of Libraries and the St. Petersburg Day will be provided for users on May 27.

The film “Senatskaya, 3” features the creation of the Presidential Library, one of the three national libraries of the Russian Federation. The filmmakers paid special attention to the history of the building of the Holy Synod, which currently houses the Presidential Library, as well as the history of the Holy Synod, the church authority formed under Peter I.

Presentation video “Presidential Library. Time of Development ” will introduce the main activities of the institution as a national electronic repository, as well as a multimedia multifunctional (cultural, educational, scientific and informational-analytical) center.

Visitors to the portal will meet with Alexander Pavlovich Vershinin, Doctor of Law, the first Director General of the Presidential Library, who today holds the position of the Director General of the National Library of Russia.

At the end of the day, everyone is invited to attend an online concert of the music and educational project “Music of Russian Statehood” dedicated to the music of the era of Nicholas I. The reign of this emperor lasted three decades and was marked by the creation and development of Russian industry and the flourishing of culture. In the same period, buildings were built for two state governing bodies of the Russian Empire - the Senate and the Holy Governing Synod.
