International events: Emirate Abu Dhabi mounts World Information Summit
Preparation work for holding the first informational summit, which is expected to bring together over 400 leading Mass Media specialists worldwide, is finishing in Abu Dhabi.
The 3-day meeting, which will take place from 9-12 March, is reported to have a special focus on the current state of media markets of the Near East, India, China, and countries of the South-Eastern Asia. Among the participants of the meeting are Rupert Murdoch - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of News Corporation, executive officers of the American media company AOL and Microsoft Tim Armstrong and Steven Ballmer accordingly, Didier Lombard - President and CEO of Orange/France Telecom and other famous representatives of Mass Media sector of the word, who will brainstorm their ideas on the prospects of information sector development.
Participants of the summit, which is initiated by the governmental company “Abu-Dhabi Information company”, will highlight the development of digital technologies, mobile and Internet communication, TV and radio broadcasting and modernization of Mass Media on the basis of latest technological accomplishments.
Participation in several close sessions of the summit is informed to be restricted by the availability of special invitations.
