The Tomsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library has provided to its readers a video review of the “Memory of the Great Victory” electronic collection from the Presidential Library.

The Great Patriotic War was unparalleled in its scale, destruction and human casualties in the history of our state. Every year, less and less participants and witnesses of those terrible events remain. Each Soviet man waged a fierce battle with the enemy: those who fought on the battlefields, who did nothing tirelessly in the rear, worked hard for the good of the Motherland, bringing closer the Great Victory. It is very important that the current generation does not forget its history and pass on knowledge of it to descendants.

Since 2010, the Presidential Library has been forming an electronic collection dedicated to victory in the Great Patriotic War. It includes official documents, photo and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, publications of a propaganda nature, collections of articles, testimonies of participants in military battles and rear workers, their personal documents, images of military and labor awards, monuments and memorial complexes. Unique materials are presented in the public domain on the Presidential Library’s portal. They are divided thematically and provided with brief annotations.
