Institutions of science and culture

This is the oldest scientific institution of health resort profile in the former Soviet Union. It was established in 1914. During the Great Patriotic War, the institution was evacuated to Kazakhstan. In 1944 the institute returned to the Crimea, but to Yalta instead of Sevastopol because of a severe destruction of the institute building. The building was completely reconstructed only in 1967. Currently, it accommodates the premises of Sevastopol Palace for Creative Children and Young People.
