On 9 June 1672 in Moscow in the family of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov and his second wife Natalia Kirillovna Naryshkina was born Peter I Alexeevich the Great.

On 2 June 2025 in the Presidential Library within the framework of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia the first lecture of the cycle "Outstanding commanders of Russia" dedicated to the history of military art of Russia in the first half of the XI century took place. The theme of the lecture: "Military art on the pages of the Tale of Bygone Years: Yaroslav the Wise".
Presidential Library marks International Children's Day
On June 1, Russia celebrates the International Children's Day. It was established in 1949 in Paris at the congress of the International Democratic Federation of Women. The holiday was designed to draw attention to the problems of children left without parents during the war.

300 years ago, on 1 June (21 May O.S.) 1725, by the will of Peter the Great, Empress Catherine I established one of the highest awards of the Russian Empire - the Order in the name of the Holy Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky.
