The meeting with opera artists Vladimir Galuzin and Natalia Timchenko to be held in the Presidential Library

April 24, 2018 at 13:00 in the multimedia complex of the Presidential Library (St. Petersburg, Senatskaya Square, 3) within the video lecture "Knowledge of Russia" will be held a creative meeting "Yesterday, today, tomorrow ... Not only about the opera" with an outstanding opera singer, People's Artist of Russia, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Vladimir Galuzin and laureate of international contests Natalia Timchenko. The following topics will be touched upon at the meeting: the basics of the creative profession and the peculiarities of the artist's creative career, work on the image in the opera performance, participation in casting and master classes, the techniques of great opera singers, the life of Russian and European theaters, and many others.

Vladimir Galuzin is one of the leading dramatic tenors of the world, possessing a great voice and great artistic talent. He performs at famous opera houses and concert halls of the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Chicago Lyrical Opera, the Kennedy Center, the Royal Opera Covent Garden, La Scala, Arena di Verona, Vienna the State Opera, the Paris National Opera, the Chatelet Theater. Vladimir Galuzin took part in international festivals in Bregenz, Edinburgh, Salzburg, performed under the guidance of renowned conductors Valery Gergiev, Carlo Rizzi, James Conlon, collaborated with such opera directors as Franco Zeffirelli, Graham Vic, August Everding, Giancarlo del Monaco and Elijah Moshinsky.

The repertoire of Natalia Timchenko includes various complicated parts of the lyrical and dramatic soprano: Leonora (“The Power of Destiny” by G. Verdi), Amelia (“The Masquerade” by J. Verdi), Aida (“Aida” by G. Verdi), Cio-Cio-san ("Madame Butterfly" by G. Puccini) and others. The concert repertoire of the singer contains the soprano part in Verdi's “Requiem”, the cycles of P. Tchaikovsky and S. Rachmaninoff, the soprano part in the cantata "Stabat Mater" by J. Pergolesi. Timchenko performed in the best opera and concert halls of the world, including the Kennedy Center, the Carnegie Hall, the Liceo Theater. Natalia Timchenko is a laureate of the International Contest of Young Opera Singers Elena Obraztsova, the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov International Contest of Young Opera Singers and others.

The meeting, which will be held with the support of the International Charitable Foundation "Konstantinovsky" and the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center, welcomes students of art universities, beginning singers and admirers of opera. The event will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library portal in the "Live Broadcast" section as well as in the Presidential Library group on the social networking website "Vkontakte".
