The "Bronze Horseman" - blitz chess tournament in the Presidential Library

May 18, 2018 a blitz chess tournament "Bronze Horseman" will be held in St. Petersburg in the conference room of the Presidential Library (Senatskaya Square, 3) at 17:00.  The organizers are the NGO "Sports Chess Federation of St. Petersburg and the Presidential Library. The tournament will be held with the support of the construction company OOO “Severnoye RSO”.

The tournament is a continuation of a series of major international and All-Russian competitions held in St. Petersburg. Since 1993, the traditional chess festival "The Memorial of M. I. Chigorin" has been held in the city, where hundreds of chess players from 25 countries of the world take part, as well as the international festival "Petersburg Summer", which gathers 1200 chess players for the Cup of Russia and the Rapid stage Grand prix of Russia".

The "Bronze Horseman" is a blitz chess tournament, where chess players with the FIDE rating above 1600 can compete. The competition will be held according to the Swiss system in 11 rounds. Time control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds per turn for each participant. Chief referee - international arbiter / sports judge of the All-Russian category I. L. Bolotinsky.

 

Accreditation for media representatives is available until 10:00 May 17, 2018.

The letter should include the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact numbers, name of the media.

Please, note, that the entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only upon prior request and upon showing a passport: participants and guests of the event pass through entrance № 1, representatives of the media pass through entrance № 2.
