The book about well-known coach - Anatoly Rakhlin – to enrich the Presidential Library’s collections

September 7, 2018 at 12:00 within the Knowledge Forum in the Presidential Library will be signed an agreement with the St. Petersburg regional public organization "Judo Club Turbostroitel" and the transfer of the book "Anatoly Rakhlin. Coach" to the library’s fund. The ceremony will be attended by club president Mikhail Anatolyevich Rakhlin, the son of the famous coach.

Within the framework of the agreement, a public organization will participate in the formation of electronic thematic and personal studies collections of the Presidential Library, as well as in the implementation of joint projects aimed at popularizing Russia's sporting achievements. The plans include, in particular, the opening of a multimedia exhibition devoted to Anatoly Rakhlin and the holding of a video lecture about him - for Russia and abroad.

As you know, people make sports history. Anatoly Rakhlin is a famous Soviet and Russian judo coach who has trained more than 100 masters of sports for 50 years of coaching. Among his students are people who have become famous not only in sports, but also in politics, science, business.

Today athlete’s son Mikhail Rakhlin is an Honored coach of Russia, President of the “Judo Club Turbostroitel”, founder of the A. S. Rakhlin Foundation for Support and Development of Judo and the A. S. Rakhlin Physical School of Olympic Reserve in Judo.

Mikhail Rakhlin actively participates in public activities aimed at stimulating the interest of young people in active sports, the popularization of judo in Russia and the education of worthy citizens of the country; develops its own charity projects in support of young athletes; is a continuer of the glorious traditions of the Leningrad Judo School laid down by the legendary sports coach A. S. Rakhlin.

Meeting with Mikhail Rakhlin will be another significant event in a series of interesting and large-scale events within the Knowledge Forum of the Presidential Library.

Please, note, that to enter the Presidential Library you need to submit advance notice and show your passport: participants and guests of the event go through entrance № 1, media representatives go through entrance № 2.
