The winners of "Russia in the Electronic World" Interactive Olympiad to be awarded in the Presidential Library

On May 22, 2019 at 13:00 a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-awardees of the “Russia in the Electronic World” annual Interactive Olympiad for schoolchildren in history, social studies and the Russian language will be held at the Presidential Library. The event will be livestreamed on the Presidential Library’s portal in “Live broadcasts” section.

Traditionally, the program of the event will consist of two parts. After the official part the attendees of the Presidential Library will see a theatrical performance from the Lyceum of Arts of St. Petersburg.

In 2019, 42 senior pupils became winners and prize-awardees of the “Russia in the Electronic World” Olympiad: the majority came from St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Tambov and the Komi Republic. Representatives of many Russian cities, from Kaliningrad Region to the Jewish Autonomous Region are also among the winners.  

 “Russia in the Electronic World” Internet Olympiad for Schoolchildren is a scale project that the Presidential Library holds together with the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and the Main Research Computing Center of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation. Winners and prize-awardees will be granted with additional points to USE upon admission to the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, the Russian State Social University, the Tyumen State University, the National Research Tomsk State University and a number of other leading universities in Russia.

The Olympiad for schoolchildren "Russia in the Electronic World" is held annually from September 1 to March 31 and includes three stages. The tasks of the first two stages are performed interactively on the Olympiad’s website. The final stage of the contest is held in the building of the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg, on Senate Square, 3, and in the branch of the Presidential Library in Tyumen. In addition, in 2019, the finalists met at another 24 sites: in Moscow, Blagoveshchensk, Novosibirsk, Salekhard, Rostov-on-Don and many other cities of our country, as well as the Russian Center of Science and Culture in the Republic of Belarus.

This year, for the ninth time, more than 6,000 schoolchildren from all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as eight foreign countries: Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad.

Since 2010, in total, about 40 thousand students from the 10th and 11th grades took part in the project, which aims to turn pupils to sources on the history of Russia, the theory and practice of Russian statehood.

Please note that the admittance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior request and upon showing a passport: participants and guests of the event go through entrance № 1, media representatives go through entrance № 2.
