The anniversary of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University to be held at the Presidential Library

On December 3, 2019 at 15:00 the Presidential Library will host enlarged meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the founding of the first transport university in Russia – Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University.

The meeting will bring together more than 400 people: representatives of the Academic Council of the University, prominent graduates of the University and other honored guests holding senior positions in government or business. Rector of the University Alexander Panychev will make a welcoming speech.

The guests will have a concert, dedicated to all scientists, inventors, designers who are directly related to the University. Conductor - laureate of international contests Dmitry Nozdrachev.

In addition, the following events will be held as part of the celebration of the 210th anniversary of the St. Petersburg State Transport University of Emperor Alexander I:

November 30 - Open Day in the university building and the Alumni Assembly at the Museum of Railways of Russia.

On December 2, a delegation of the Scientific Council will visit the Peter and Paul Fortress and the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in order to honor the memory of the first rector of the University A. Betancourt. It is also planned to visit the Cathedral in the name of the Apostles Peter and Paul and lay flowers on the grave of Emperor Alexander I as the founder of the University.

At noon, on the same day, a solemn shot from the cannon will be heard in the University building, and then the Plenary meeting of the Betancourt International Engineering Forum "History and Prospects for the Development of the Transport Industry and Transport Education" and the opening of a memorial plaque to K. N. Posiet in the Yusupov Palace will be held.

On December 3, in the morning, sectional (faculty) meetings of the Betancourt International Engineering Forum and rewarding of University specialists will be held.

Please note that the entrance to the Presidential Library is only possible by prior registration and upon showing a passport: participants and guests of the event go through entrance № 1, media representatives go through entrance № 2.
