The final stage of the "Russia in the Electronic World" Olympiad to be held in the Presidential Library

The third, final stage of the annual interactive Olympiad for schoolchildren “Russia in the Electronic World” in history, social science and the Russian language will be held from March 17 to March 19, 2020. 113 participants including those in history, 227 in social studies, 115 pupils from 52 regions of Russia and 12 foreign countries in Russian reached the finals. The lists of finalists are published on the website of the Olympiad and in the VKontakte social network group.  

The last stage, according to established tradition, gives participants the opportunity to test their knowledge in full-time format. The final tour will be held in St. Petersburg - in the building of the Presidential Library (Senate Square, 3), in its branch in Tyumen, located at the Mendeleev Tyumen Regional Scientific Library, as well as at 52 sites in other cities, including the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The venues are posted on the website of the Olympiad and in the VKontakte social network group. The competitions will be held in two shifts - the first one from 08:00 to 11:15 and the second one from 12:00 to 15:15 Moscow time.

To successfully complete the tasks of the final stage, students will have to turn to the Presidential Library’s collections, which contain over 870 thousand electronic copies of books and periodicals, archival documents, audio and video recordings, photographs, educational films and other materials.

Winners and prize-awardees will receive benefits upon admission to universities - partners of the Presidential Library, a list of which is published on the website of the Olympiad. Besides, the best participants will be awarded memorable prizes and gifts from the Presidential Library.

The Internet Olympiad for schoolchildren “Russia in the Electronic World” is a large-scale educational project implemented by the Presidential Library. Since 2010 it involved more than 45 thousand students of 10–11 grades.

In 2019, in the year of the tenth anniversary Olympiad, the fourth discipline “Russian as a Foreign Language”, designed for foreign citizens over 14 years of age who are studying Russian, was introduced. The final stage of the Olympiad in this discipline will take place in the period from May 15 to May 29, 2020.

Accreditation of media representatives to participate in events on the site of the Presidential Library is until 11:00 on March 16, 2020.

The letter should include the name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact numbers, the name of the media.

We draw the attention of media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Admission to the Presidential Library is possible only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: media representatives go through the entrance № 2; participants and guests of the event go through the entrance № 1.
