15 June 2020

June 15, 2020, at 15:00, the Presidential Library will provide online watching and discussing of a documentary film about the Central Naval Museum “Keepers of Russia's Naval Glory”, which will tell viewers about the three-hundred-year history of the Russian navy. The film will be held remotely via live broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live broadcasts section, in the official group on the VKontakte social network and on the institution’s YouTube channel.

The main role of the keeper of historical memory was played by the People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Burov. “In a metaphorical form, the hero of the film tells the story of the struggle against time. Who wins this battle. These are “invisible” people, custodians of the Central Naval Museum. Thanks to them, we see the history and heroic events of the past with our own eyes, thanks to them, objects come to life and speak with us, thanks to them we can understand and comprehend the meanings of their lives”, - said the Director of the Central Naval Museum Ruslan Nekhay. The main goal of these people is to pass on to the next generations the “great relay race” of historical memory.

The film is the result of the work of the museum and the young Petersburg team - the film studio, which includes director Nikolai Letunovsky, cameraman Ivan Zherbin, screenwriter Anna Ganshina and producer Ekaterina Zakrevskaya.

The Presidential Library, like many cultural institutions, provides its activity in remote mode and invites everyone who is interested in the history of the Russian fleet to watch this film about the three hundred-year-old history of the Russian navy.
