The Presidential Library’s cinema club meeting to show a film dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

The film “The Genome of Memory” will be shown at the Presidential Library on June 22, 2020 at 15:00. The film show will be held remotely, with a broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live broadcasts section, in the official group on the VKontakte social network and on the institution’s YouTube channel.

In anticipation of the Victory Parade, viewers will see a video version of a virtual memory gallery. It was created by students of the school of young professionals “M-Art” as part of St. Petersburg Center for Creative Development and Humanitarian Education of Children “On Vasilievsky” on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and reveals the theme of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 on the example of the front-line fates of specific people.

Every year over the course of five years, the virtual gallery created by the efforts of students and graduates of the school is replenished with new biographies of relatives and friends who worked in the rear, survived the occupation, died in the camps, all who fought on the fronts and endured the hardships of harsh wartime.

“We take out old photographs, carefully restore and biographize them. Keeping the memory of our families, we strengthen our cultural roots and shape the spirituality and morality of the future generation”, - says the head of the school Olga Kostyuchenko. Over six years of training, M-Art participants become true masters of traditional and computer animation, media design, video production and other areas in the field of multimedia.

The school participated in many international and Russian conferences, festivals and competitions. It participated in joint projects with organizations such as the French Institute in St. Petersburg, the Stone World exhibition association, the State Hermitage Museum, Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia, the children's environmental center Vodokanal of St. Petersburg, the children's TV channel Smile of the Child, Spanish Center of Culture, Education and Business in St. Petersburg, the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. 

Multimedia projects “Letters from the Front”, “Historical Lotto”, ““Word - Meaning. Culture = Cultura“. Part 1-2. “Phraseologisms”” and others, created by the students of “M-Art”, are included in the collections of the Presidential Library and are publicly available on its portal.
