Murals of ancient temples and the history of the creation of symbols of the Presidential power spotlighted on the Presidential Library’s portal

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the broadcast program, on August 5, on the day when the official symbols of the Presidential power in the Russian Federation were established in 1996, the Presidential Library’s portal will present a film spotlighting the history of the Standard (Flag) of the President of the Russian Federation and the Sign of the President of the Russian Federation, the special copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the procedure for the inauguration of the President, as well as the creation of the State Heraldic Service. One of the film's experts is the Chief Herald Master of Russia, Chairman of the Heraldic Council under the President of Russia Georgy Vilinbakhov. On the same day a video lecture spotlighting the history of the appearance of state symbols of the Russian Federation and symbols of Presidential power will be shown.

This week, users will also be able to learn interesting facts about the first Russian round-the-world voyage led by Ivan Krusenstern, about the geographical discoveries made by Russian navigators. An informational and methodological webinar, introducing unique documents from the Presidential Library’s collections - archival files, cartographic materials, periodicals, documentaries, newsreels, books, brochures and others represents this theme. The video lectures that will be broadcasted on the Presidential Library’s portal will feature the Battle of Gangut of 1714 - the naval battle of the Russian and Swedish fleets at Cape Gangut (Hanko) during the Northern War; on the beginning of railway construction in Russia and the Trans-Siberian project in the development of Siberia.

Having watched the film "The Holy Synod" online, one can learn about the unknown facts from the history of the supreme body of ecclesiastical and state administration of the Russian Church - the Holy Governing Synod, which run from 1721 to 1918. The film "Cultural Heritage Preservation" will spotlight the process of digitizing various documents and the creation of national electronic repositories of Russia, among which the Presidential Library, located in the historical building of the Holy Synod, was one of the first.

The film "The Saved Frescoes of the Church of the Assumption on Volotovo Field" prepared by the Presidential Library will tell about the works to save the murals of ancient temples, about their significance in the history of Russia and the emergence of statehood.
