Online films, webinars and video lectures available on the Presidential Library’s portal

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the broadcast program, on the eve, as well as on May 27, on the All-Russian Day of Libraries and the birthday of the Presidential Library, the institution's portal will show the video works "Senatskaya, 3" and "The Presidential Library", telling about one of the three national libraries of the Russian Federation. The creators of the first film paid special attention to the history of the building of the Holy Synod, which today houses the Presidential Library, as well as to the Holy Synod itself, the church authority formed under Peter I. The second film tells about the history and activities of the Presidential Library, introduces the electronic collections and exhibition halls of the institution.

The informational and methodological webinar of the Presidential Library, which will be broadcast on the Slavic Written Language and Culture Day on May 24, will focus on the traditions of this holiday in the countries of the Slavic world, topical debate issues related to the emergence of the Cyrillic and Glagolitic alphabet. Users will also learn about materials telling about the history of Slavic writing, which are stored in the Presidential Library’s collections - biographical sketches, lives, studies of texts translated by the first teachers, and the works of their followers.

Another film, which will be shown on the library's portal, tells about the drawing teacher from Staraya Russa, the publisher of the all-Russian magazine for children about art Vvedenskaya Storona Nikolai Lokotkov. The artist, teacher and publisher have firmly established themselves in the Russian outback, while everyone is trying to quickly leave it. What keeps him there? The answer to this question is given by the film “Drawing Teacher. The Story of a Magazine”, filmed by the specialists of the Presidential Library.

During the week from May 24-28, within the framework of the educational project of the Presidential Library video lecture Knowledge of Russia, users will also be offered video lectures Vladimir Monomakh and Battle on the Ice: View from the East and West.
