Films and video lectures about prominent figures and significant events available online on the Presidential Library's portal

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in the Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

Thus, in accordance with the broadcast program, on the eve and the birthday of Alexander Suvorov, celebrated on November 24, users can watch the documentary Alexander Suvorov Museum-Estate in Konchanskoye Village. The film spotlights the life of the great commander, the history of the Suvorov Memorial House-Museum (opened in 1942).

The history of the formation of Russian borders is inextricably connected with the development of the North. The Presidential Library's digital collection Territory of Russia features materials devoted to the history of the development of the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route: books, memoirs and travel notes, scientific works, marine atlases, drawings, fragments of newsreels. The video film Development of the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route will introduce the collection in detail.

115 years ago, on November 22, 1906, Russian authorities issued a decree on the abolishment of the obshina (peasants' community) system and the consolidation of allotment land in private ownership. It marked the beginning of the Stolypin agrarian reforms, named after its ideological inspirer. The video lecture Activities of Pyotr Arkadyevich Stolypin as Chairman of the Council of Ministers available on the Presidential Library's portal will portray this extraordinary person.

Gleb Kalashnikov, PhD in History, Executive Secretary of the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation, will talk about state awards of Russia. His lecture is part of the Knowledge of Russia Presidential Library's educational project.

Another video lecture available on the online portal is The USSR and the Nuremberg Trials. It marks the 76th anniversary of the beginning of the Nuremberg Trials over the leaders of the Nazi regime in Germany.

Users also can watch a record of the informational and methodological webinar Scientific Periodicals, which will provide a survey of content from the Presidential Library's collection - institutional publications, bulletins, proceedings and scientific notes of academic and educational institutions, various commissions and societies.
