III International Scientific and Practical Conference on countering a new coronavirus infection to be held in the Presidential Library

III International Scientific and Practical Conference on Counteracting the New Coronavirus Infection and Other Infectious Diseases will be held at the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation on December 15–16, 2022.

The event, which will be held in a hybrid format, will be attended in person by up to 300 high-level delegates from ministries and departments responsible for the prevention and control of infectious diseases, the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Africa, Southeast Asia, and also specialized international, non-governmental and scientific organizations.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held by Rospotrebnadzor with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg in early December 2020 and 2021. The annual conference has become a platform for the exchange of views and experience among specialists in various fields. The most important areas of COVID-19 research were discussed at the conference, including molecular epidemiology and immunology of coronavirus infection, clinical features of the course of the disease, laboratory diagnostics, prospects for the emergence of drugs for the etiotropic therapy of COVID-19, the effectiveness of vaccines in the context of virus evolution, and antibiotic resistance of other pathogens during the pandemic.

The main goal of the conference in 2022 is to summarize the knowledge and experience in combating the new coronavirus infection gained over the past two years by specialists from different countries, to present the results of joint research with foreign partners on the new coronavirus infection, and to demonstrate Russian approaches to the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. In addition, within the framework of the conference, it is planned to hold a final meeting on the program for assessing population immunity to a new coronavirus infection in the countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, at which the results of the two-year project will be presented.

Participation in absentia involves viewing the entire conference online and is available for viewing by everyone on the conference website, on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live Broadcasts section and on the institution's Rutube-channel.

To participate in the conference one must have an access code which is sent in official invitations. The number of places for full-time participation is limited, and they are offered only to employees of scientific, medical and educational organizations.

Media representatives have an opportunity to attend the event in the building of the Presidential Library if they have accreditation which is carried out on the conference website.

If the epidemiological situation changes before the conference, a PCR-test can also be taken from all participants (information about the date, time and place of testing will be sent to participants separately).

Access to the Presidential Library for conference participants is carried out through the main entrance, for media representatives - through entrance № 2.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment is recommended while in the facility.
