Video lecture "Values of the Russian language picture of the world in Russian songs" to be held at the Presidential Library

The video lecture entitled “Values of the Russian language picture of the world in Russian songs” will be held on February 17, 2023 at 10:30. This is the second video lecture from a series of lectures on the Russian language as a means of interethnic communication. 2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication in the CIS space. In this regard, the Presidential Library holds lectures that reveal topical issues of Russian studies and the problems of the development of the Russian language in the world.

Famously, the soul of people is its language and its songs. Each historical time has its own songs, in which certain linguistic features are manifested. What meanings were embodied in the Russian song culture of the 20th century, which includes a range from author's song to Russian rock? What songs do remain in the memory of the people for a long time and what values do they embody? Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language Alexandra Nikolaevna Matrusova will tell about this at the video lecture.

The video lecture is free. The meeting will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live broadcasts, on the Rutube-channel of the institution, as well as on the page on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.

The remaining video lectures from the series of lectures on topical issues of Russian studies and the problems of the development of the Russian language in the world will be held in April 2023:

• April 4-6 (to be confirmed) – “The role of the Russian language in the formation of the Russian cultural space in the CIS countries”. Lecturer - Levon Sahakyan, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language.  
• April 18 - "Live Speech: Norm and Implementation". Lecturer - Natalia Bogdanova-Beglaryan, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of the Russian Language, Faculty of Philology, St. Petersburg State University.
• April 25–26 (to be confirmed) – “Rhetorical devices in political discourse”. Lecturer - Irina Mitrofanova, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of the Russian Language, St. Petersburg State University.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
