The Presidential Library is holding Interactive Contest for students in two disciplines

1 October 2012

In the new academic year, the Presidential Library is holding again the interactive contest under the familiar title, "Russia in the Electronic World." This time competitions for high school students will include not only the traditional discipline, the history of Russia, but the social science as well. Qualifying round of both competitions starts October 1, 2012.

Students can try their hand at both disciplines or choose the one that they know better. To answer some questions the contestants may use the manuals and books, the earliest of which were published in the 19th century, from "Reference Materials" on the portal of the contest.

Participation in interactive contests should help young people not only to test themselves in the knowledge of history and social science, but also to prepare for future life. The questions are designed in the way so that high school students learned the topics that are essential for passing the Unified State Exam.

Intellectual battles in virtual space will be held in three phases. The first and second rounds are remote ones. Thus, any student from any corner of the country can take part in them. In a limited time the contestants will have to answer online the questions available on the portal of the contest, after a simple registration. Finalists will be invited to the Presidential Library, where the third, on-site, phase of the competition will take place.

Participants of the last year competition, who still go to school, do not need to register on the portal – all they have to do is just enter their former login and password. The winners and prize winners of “Russia in the Electronic World" 2012, who have not yet finished school, can join the competition directly from the final round.

The third year in a row the Presidential Library provides an opportunity for students from all over Russia to verify their knowledge of our country in the Internet space. In 2011/2012 academic year, the questions of the contest covered two subjects - Russian history and social science. Then, high school students from 80 regions of the Russian Federation contended the first prize.

Registration form, questions, reference materials, documents, information about winners and prize winners, archive of questions of previous contests are available on the Contest portal.
