The 18th meeting of the Cooperation Council of National Libraries of the Russian Federation to take place at the Presidential Library

December 16, 2014, the Presidential Library will host the 18th meeting of the Cooperation Council of National Libraries of the Russian Federation. Leaders and specialists of the Presidential Library, the Russian State Library and the National Library of Russia plan to discuss the results of cooperation over the past year and discuss prospects for cooperation in the coming year of 2015. The issues to be considered: regulatory-legal, scientific and methodological support of libraries, acquisition problems, development of national electronic resources, bibliographic activity and improvement of the performance of libraries. The central theme of the meeting will be a discussion of the results and prospects of development of the National electronic library. The meeting will also be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Department of Affairs of the President of the Russian Federation, ELAR Corporation, National Information and Library Center LIBNET.  

Cooperation Council of National Libraries was established in May 1996 in accordance with the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the National Library of Russia and the Russian State Library. In 2009, the Presidential Library joined the Council. Since May 27, 2011 the interaction between the national libraries has been based on the tripartite Agreement on cooperation.
