“Patterns of Russia” – at the Presidential Library

26 May – 31 August 2017

May 26, 2017 at 12:00 in the Presidential Library will be open an exhibition of tapestries "Patterns of Russia". It is timed to coincide with the 8th anniversary of the beginning of the Presidential Library and shows the beauty and greatness of the country, united by the inter-regional information network of the Presidential Library. Access centers for electronic documents and materials about the history of Russian statehood have been opened in 85 regions of the Russian Federation.

The exposition reflects the uniqueness of the territories - the works are presented on all federal districts, illustrating the natural, architectural, historical wealth of the state.

Tapestries are created at one of the leading enterprises of the light industry in Russia - the factory "Uzor" of the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region. They are based on the images of modern photographers participating in various projects. Among them there is the work of participants in the photo contest, which is organized by the long-term partner of the Presidential Library - the Russian Geographical Society. In the pictures will be presented the Siberian, Central and Far Eastern federal districts. It will also be possible to get acquainted with the work of the participant of the photo contest "Kavkaz.doc", a project that was first held in 2016 thanks to the cooperation of the Presidential Library, the Government of Karachaevo-Cherkessia and the holding "KChR-Media". A symbolic embodiment of the atmosphere of the Southern Federal District will be the picturesque place of the Krasnodar Territory - the Lago-Naki plateau and the recently restored Temple of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God in the village of Staritsa. From the North-West Federal District it is presented the work, where one of the oldest cities of Russia - Old Ladoga - is imprinted. The Ural Federal District will present the views of Bely Island, on which one of the most northern Orthodox chapels is located. Several pictures of this region were received from the press service of the Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets District. The Volga Federal District will demonstrate a complex of historical, archaeological and architectural monuments of the Kazan Kremlin, a snapshot of which was provided by the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The exhibition will be open in the Presidential Library from May 26, 2017. Detailed information on the work of the exhibition and visiting it can be obtained by calling (812) 334-25-14 or by sending an e-mail to excursion@prlib.ru.
