The International Ad Issues Summit 2017 in the Presidential Library

One of the largest international events in the communications industry — the International Ad Issues Summit 2017 the first time in St. Petersburg is taking place in the Presidential Library on September 28 and 29, 2017. The event is airing live at iaa2017stpetersburg.com.

The memorandum, which confirmed the cooperation of the government of St. Petersburg and the organizer of the Summit — the International Advertising Association (IAA), was signed in Smolny in May this year. The vice-governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Govorunov, deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) Andrey Kashevarov and IAA president Felix Tataru headed the organizing committee of the Summit.

Representatives of federal and regional authorities, heads of world and Russian industrial associations and organizations, the leaders of the companies — the largest participants of the market from more than 20 countries — have met at the Summit arena to discuss the further development of the communication industry, its trends, prospects and new strategies in the specifics of the changed conditions. In particular, the Summit delegates review current joint authorities’ and business’ solutions on improving a quality and an efficiency of social communications, self-regulation mechanisms, media trends and investments in the digital economy, discuss territorial brands with its promotion, the prospects for future agencies, and the modern views on creativity.

The starting point of the Summit is a plenary session focused on “Communication industry: the real economy sector. Analytics and trends,” the participants of which examine modern transformations of the industry, its impact on other sectors of the economy, the trends, the prospects and new strategies for the development of the industry in the specifics of the changed circumstances.

In addition to the major business program, much attention is paid to the educational sector. Within the educational program of the Summit, there are the master classes for students and young professionals in St. Petersburg universities, a round table entitled “Timely updating of the architecture of professional knowledge” with key issue of “How to build a model of profile education with taking into account emerging on a day-to-day basis new technologies, knowledge and innovations in the advertising, mass media and marketing communication (MarCom) fields?”
