The Presidential Library conducts videoconference with the space station in the course of the “CosmoStart” Forum

A ceremony of the official opening of the “CosmoStart” National Cosmonautics and Aviation Forum will be held on November 15, 2017, at 1 pm MSK in the Presidential Library over the course of two other important events: a panel discussion on “The 60 years of the space age of mankind. Feature outlook” and “Cosmos nearby” videoconference with appearances of cosmonauts Sergei Ryazansky and Alexander Misurkin.

In 2017, CosmoStart is reaching its new level — this time the forum will be held for two days at once in several venues in St. Petersburg: in the Presidential Library, in the main building of the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, and in the “Lumiere Hall” creative space. The program of the festival includes lectures, master classes, discussions, and sightseeing tours to the St. Petersburg companies of the aircraft-rocket and space industry.

A direct videoconference with the space pilots Heroes of Russia Sergei Ryazansky and Alexander Misurkin, during which Russian cosmonauts will talk with the participants of the forum, gathered in the Presidential Library, directly from the International Space Station is expected to be the central episode of the event.

The “CosmoStart” National Cosmonautics and Aviation Forum is the most important event in the life of future specialists of Russian aerospace industry; it is conducted with the aim of popularizing engineering specialties, preserving and multiplying the traditions of Russian cosmonautics, a devotion and an ethical education of youth, upbringing the human resources for domestic industries.

In addition, the “CosmoStart” Festival is a discussion platform for representatives of different generations, and moreover — the activities, regions and actors involved in the aerospace industry. At the same time, the festival’s events have certain practical meaning and are intended to be an instrument that allows solving current problems of the industry at all kinds of levels.

Over 500 talented representatives of the younger generation of Russia will take part in the festival’s events. The forum also invites young 14 to 30 years old people as a part of the delegations, representing educational and public organizations authorized in Russia.

The organizers of the festival are: St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, the Administration of St. Petersburg, the North-Western Interregional Nonprofit Organization of the Federation of Cosmonautics of the Russian Federation, the “Roskosmos” State Corporation for Space Activity.

The Forum is made possible with the assistance of the Committee for Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations of the St. Petersburg Administration, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Presidential Library, the Russian School Students Movement, the Aviation History Foundation, the Russian Student Center “Rosstudenchestvo,” the “Lumiere Hall” creative space.
