A year of the turning point to be analyzed in the Presidential Library

“Video lecturing — to school!” dedicated to 1929 — the year of overwhelming breaking point in the USSR will be held in the Presidential Library on November 21, 2017, at 3:30 pm MSK. The event is held for school students of grades 10—11 of the “Artek” International Center for Children as part of web educational module. School students of St. Petersburg will also take part in public video lecturing.

Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Historical Informatics of the Historical Faculty of the Moscow State University, PhD in Historical Sciences, Professor Leonid Borodkin will join the event with his lecture via video-conferencing mode. He will elaborate on the situation with the Soviet Union by the end of the 1920s. The implementation of the policy of forced industrialization and collectivization, which was intended to move the Soviet economy to another essential level, has begun in the USSR during this period.

The event will be the second in a joint educational project of the Presidential Library and the “Artek” International Center for Children. The initiative is aimed at ensuring ethical and patriotic upbringing of young generation. The prominent research workers in the field of history will be appear in the project with their speeches.

Creation of a integrated information environment in the field of history, theory and practice of Russian statehood and the Russian language as a state language of the Russian Federation is the first key question in an interaction between the Presidential Library and the “Artek” International Center for Children. On June 13, 2017, the heads of institutions signed an agreement on cooperation. Since that time, joint projects have been implemented in the fields of information technologies, education and culture, as well as assuring ethical and patriotic upbringing of youth.
