“The St. Petersburg Embankments” — in commemoration of D. Khvorostovsky

The closing ceremony of the “St. Petersburg Embankments” Music Festival in the Presidential Library will be dedicated to the memory of Dmitry Khvrostovsky. According to the art director and an organizer of the festival Maria Safaryants.

She stressed that an outstanding artist who glorified Russia on the opera stages around the world was a friend of the “St. Petersburg Embankments” and of many performers who participated in the festival. “With our concert we will pay tribute to a grandiose talent of Dmitry Khvorostovsky and express our support to his relatives and friends,” — Maria Safaryants told.

Please put in remembrance, that a meaningful event in the cultural life of the northern capital — a performance of American tenor Lawrence Brownley, accompanied by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg under conduction of Konstantin Orbelyan, will take place in the historic building of the Holy Synod (at 3 Senate Square, St. Petersburg, RF 190000), accommodating the premises of the Presidential Library, on December 1, 2017, at 7 pm. The organizers of the event are “St. Petersburg Palaces” International Music Foundation and the Presidential Library.

The concert program includes arias from operas and operettas by V. Bellini, D. Puccini, D. Rossini, J. Bizet, and J. Offenbach.

The event will mark the closing of the “St. Petersburg Embankments” VII International Music Festival and will be aired live on the Presidential Library website.

The Presidential Library actively participates in the cultural life of the city. On October 6, the grand opening of the “St. Petersburg Embankments” VII International Music Festival took place in the building of the Senate Square. The first festival concert entitled “Music of the Sea,” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Ivan Aivazovsky, struck the listeners with an unusual combination of music and featured on the large screen paintings by the great artist.
