The Presidential Library will become the center of the unification of Orthodox youth

February 17, 2018 at 14:00 in the Presidential Library, which is housed in St. Petersburg in the historic building of the Synod, the Youth Orthodox Forum will be held.

Issues of the Orthodox faith in the modern world will be discussed with religious scholars and ministers of the Orthodox Church. The themes of the open interviews, discussions, lectures will be the interaction of the Church with the modern youth, the role of Orthodox culture in the formation of family values, compassion as a human calling and much more.

Members of the government of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Bishop of Tikhvin and Lodeinoye Pole Mstislav, Archbishop of Peterhof, vicar of St. Petersburg diocese Amvrosy, executive director of the Association for the Support of Spiritual and Moral Education "Pokrov", dean of the temples at the universities of St. Petersburg archpriest Pyotr Mukhin, artistic director of the Pushkin Russian State Academic Drama Theater (Alexandrinsky) Valery Fokin are invited to the forum.

One of the main events will be the signing of an agreement between the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with NGOs of Saint-Petersburg Administration and the Committee on Youth Policy of the Leningrad Region on the implementation of joint projects, in particular the religious procession "Way of Virgin".

For members of the Orthodox Youth Forum it is planned a themed entertainment program: the Cathedral Choir of Tikhvin diocese’s performance, a multimedia photo exhibition of Orthodox photoschool "Transformation".

The event is organized by the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with Public Organizations as well as the St. Petersburg Diocese.

Please note that the entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior arrangement and upon showing a passport: the participants and guests go through entrance № 1, members of the media go through entrance № 2.
