Forgotten photographs of the Russian-Turkish war - at the Presidential Library exhibition

From March 15, to April 12, 2018 the Presidential Library will host the grand opening of the multimedia exhibition "Forgotten Photographs of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878", timed to the national holiday of Bulgaria - the Day of Liberation from Ottoman rule.

On the plasma panels of the gallery of the first floor visitors of the exhibition will be able to see unique photos, digitized and restored by the Bulgarian artist and photographer Ivo Hadjimishev. The most vivid events of 1877-1878 come to life on the ancient images, revealing the heroic pages of Russian and Bulgarian history before the audience.

The exposition includes 60 works from the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents and the archive of the city of Rijeka (Croatia). Their authors are the Russian photographer A. D. Ivanov and the court photographer of the prince of Romania Carol I Franz Dushek, outstanding chroniclers of the Russo-Turkish war.

Please, note, that the entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only upon prior request and upon showing a passport: participants and guests of the event go through entrance № 1, representatives of the media go through entrance № 2.
