The Russian Far East – World Economic Outpost

The Eastern Economic Forum is to take place in September 2018 in Vladivostok. To mark the event the Presidential Library is presenting a new collection, which highlights the economic development of the Far East and its role in the global economic system.

The collection provides access to electronic copies of official documents featuring national programs on the development of the Far East; the pre-revolutionary, Soviet and latest scientific studies on certain aspects of the economy of the Far East; archival records, which spotlight trade and infrastructure development in the region; maps, photographs, cards, along with a wide variety of video materials about the economic life of the region.

The collection is based on the materials of central and regional libraries of Russia (The Russian State Library, The National Library of Russia, The State Public Historical Library, The Presidential Library, The Central Naval Library, The Amur Regional Research Library, The Tyumen Regional Research Library, The Moscow Theological Academy Library), state archives (The State Archive of the Russian Federation, The Russian State Historical Archive, The Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Federation), institutions of higher education (Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Far Eastern Federal University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, Pacific National University), and official legal information portals, national research centers and museums (President of Russia official website, Government of Russia official website, the official legal information portal, The Russian Geographical Society and The Children’s Postcard Museum).
