The collection is devoted to the history of the Russian Cossacks. Particular attention is paid to the Don Cossack Host. The collection features scientific research, reference books, popular historical essays of the XIX - early XX centuries, statutes and regulations, archival materials, maps, plans and drawings. They reveal the culture of the Cossacks, the history of the formation of the Cossack troops and the Cossack service, including the history of the participation of the Don Cossacks in World War I, the 1917 Revolution and the Civil War in Russia. The revival of the traditions of the southern Cossacks in the Russian Federation is also highlighted.
