Museums and Society: Exhibition “The State Tretyakov Gallery. Masterpieces of Art, 1750-1850” underway in Moscow

The exhibition “The State Tretyakov Gallery. Masterpieces of Art, 1750-1850” will run in Moscow until December 9, 2018.

The unique project is timed to coincide with the centenary of the foundation of the Republic of Karelia. The exhibition showcases 48 paintings of the prominent Russian artists — F. Rokotov, V. Borovikovsky, D. Levitsky, K. Bryullov, O. Kiprensky, A. Venetsianov, V. Tropinin, A. Ivanov, S. Shchedrin and others. It gives an insight into the history of development of the Russian art school over the course of a century, portrays many famous people and presents a variety of genres.
