History and Culture: Exhibition “The Miracle of St George and the Dragon. The Hagiographic Icon dating from the late 16th Century from the Private Collection” staged in Moscow

The Central Andrei Rublev Museum of Ancient Russian Culture and Art (Moscow) presents the exhibition “The Miracle of St George and the Dragon. The Hagiographic Icon dating from the late 16th Century from the Private Collection”.

The Holy Great Martyr George, called the Victory-Bearer for his military glory, was one of the most revered saints in ancient  Rus’. Many churches and icons were dedicated to him. The exhibition in the Central Andrei Rublev Museum of Ancient Russian Culture and Art showcases a monumental icon of the Miracle of St George and the Dragon from the private collection, that was painted in the late 16th century in Pskov. The exhibition will run until February 6, 2019.
