Regions of Russia: Exhibition timed to 165th anniversary of navigation on the Shilka River mounted in Nerchinsk

4 March 2019

The Nerchinsk Regional Museum (the Trans-Baikal Territory) presents an exhibition “The Shilka River: From Sretensk to Pokrovka”. It is timed to the navigation on the river, which was launched 165 years ago. On display are little-known images of the river, views of settlements along its banks, landscapes and steamboats, research drawings and maps. Some rarities, dating from the mid-1850s to the 1910s, have been provided to the Nerchinsk Museum by several largest repositories, including the State Archive of the Russian Federation.

The exhibition will run through the end of April 2019.
