The Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: Exhibition about drama and dramatists to kick off in the National Library of Russia

A new exhibition marking the Year of Theatre in Russia will kick off in the National Library of Russia, New Building (St. Petersburg) on March 25, 2019.

The exhibition presents the dramatic art in general, its evolution, the relation between drama and theatre. Genres of drama are the result of the spectrum of human emotions: joy is comedy, grief is tragedy, laughter through tears is tragicomedy. More than 150 publications from the collections of the National Library of Russia will spotlight dramatists, their methods, innovation, and language.

The exhibition will be open until May 27.
