Memory of Russia and the World: Outdoor exhibition of wartime photographs “Soldier-Liberator” mounted in Moscow

14 May 2019

A photo exhibition under the title “Soldier-Liberator” has been mounted in Profsoyuznaya Street in Moscow. It is organized by the Main Archive Directorate of Moscow on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The outdoor exposition showcases photo documents from the city’s archival collections — photographs by war correspondents, such as Robert Diament, Boris Ignatovich, Mikhail Ozersky, Mark Redkin, Viktor Temin, Mikhail Trakhman, Alexander Ustinov, Yevgeny Khaldey, Ivan Shagin, Boris Yaroslavtsev and others.

Photographs taken by war correspondents show the main heroes of the Victory Day - soldiers of the Red Army, soldiers-liberators, both during battles and short breaks between fights. The names of many of them remain unknown.

The exhibition will be open until July 9.
