History of Russia: Exhibition “The Tula Kremlin Turns 500” to kick off in Moscow

The exhibition “The Tula Kremlin Turns 500” will kick off on June 12, 2019 in the State Historical Museum in Moscow.

This exhibition is part of the official program of the celebrations marking the 500th anniversary of the Tula Kremlin due in 2020. According to the Nikon Chronicle, which is on display, the construction of the southernmost stone fortress of the Russian state was begun in 1514 and was completed in 1520.

The exhibition in the State Historical Museum is co-organized by the Tula State Arms Museum, the Tula Regional Local History Museum, the Kolomenskoye Moscow State Museum-Reserve, the Russian State Archive of Ancient Documents, the Russian State Military and Historical Archive.
