Museums of Russia: The State Historical Museum to open a branch in Tula in September 2020

The State Historical Museum (Moscow) is launching a new branch in Tula, which will be opened in September 2020. The “Masterpieces and Relics of the State Historical Museum” exhibition will be its first project.

The branch will become a platform for major exhibition projects, including those that were popular in Moscow.

The museum will be located on Metallistov Street, 10, in the museum quarter, in the building of the Gingerbread Trade of the XIX century.

Not only the State Historical Museum but also the branches of the Museum-estate of Leo Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana", the "Kulikovo Field" State Museum-Reserve, the "Polenovo" Museum-Estate, the Tula Museum of Weapons and other institutions will receive new exhibition sites as a result of the reconstruction and restoration of the Tula Kremlin premises. The restoration was launched as part of the marking of its 500th anniversary.
