The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow, Main Building, Lavrushinsky Lane, 10) launched a new exhibition project "Anticipating the XX Century. Vasnetsov, Repin, Serov, Ge, Borisov-Musatov".

The exhibition is part of a series of mobile exhibitions "The Artist and the Time" to be shown in the graphics halls as part of the program "The Tretyakov Gallery Opens its Storerooms". It is devoted to the most significant stages in the history of Russian graphics.

The exhibition presents works of V. M. Vasnetsov, N. N. Ge, I. E. Repin, V. A. Serov, M. A.Vrubel and V. E. Borisov-Musatov - artists who preceded the new age in art. Their works are showcased monographically, with the best and characteristic items in separate rooms.

The project spotlights the circle of reformers, who heralded the approach of a new age. They are not only the artists of the "frontier generation" - Valentin Serov, Mikhail Vrubel, Viktor Borisov-Musatov, but also art mainstream masters - Nikolai Ge, Ilya Repin, Viktor Vasnetsov.
