Memory of Russia: Monument to Emperor Alexander III unveiled in Gatchina by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin

The monument to Emperor Alexander III was erected on the territory of the Arsenal Square at the Grand Gatchina Palace to honour the 175th birth anniversary of the Russian Peacemaker Tsar. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin attended the unveiling of a monument.

The monument was created by Vladimir Brodarsky, a graduate of the Ilya Repin St Petersburg Academy of Arts after a design by sculptor Paolo Troubetzkoy (1866 – 1938). The project was implemented by the Russian Military Historical Society and the Russian Historical Society.
