21 July 2021

The Nikolai Nekrasov State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve "Karabikha" (Yaroslavl Region) developed a free online guide marking the 200th anniversary of the poet.

Tourists will have an opportunity to explore an individual digital guide. It only demands to download an application from the izi.TRAVEL or WeGoTrip portals or scan the QR code from the museum's information stands. An online guide is especially relevant during a pandemic, the museum specialists state.

The Karabikha estate is 15 km south of Yaroslavl. It is the only well-preserved estate of the second half of the XVIII - early XX century in Yaroslavl Region. Its main house looks like a palace. Until the middle of the XIX century, Karabikha belonged to the Princes Golitsyn. Nikolai Nekrasov bought this place in the early 1860s. The poet spent in Karabikha ten summers (from 1862 to 1875). Here he created verses Orina, the Soldier's Mother, Kalistrat, Return, Grandfather Mazay and the Hares and others; poems Grandfather Frost the Red Nose, Grandfather, Russian Women, Contemporaries, several chapters of the poem Who Is Happy in Russia.
