Book publishing and distribution: XVII St. Petersburg International Book Salon launched on Palace Square

The XVII St. Petersburg International Book Salon will be held on Palace Square from May 19-22, 2022 in a new format.

The organizers have decided to add a few changes to this year’s salon: the exhibition has been relocated from the General Staff Building to the four pavilions specially built for the event. The main topics of the salon will be the 350th anniversary of Peter I, the Year of Folk Art and the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia, the 130th anniversary of the birth of Konstantin Paustovsky, the 140th anniversary of the birth of Korney Chukovsky. By tradition, children’s literature will be given a special attention.

Another important change this year is making the stand placement free for all publishing houses for the first time. The cancellation of participation fees is an important step towards supporting the book publishing field.
