Memorable dates in Russia: “First Bonfires’ Flames” exhibition marking 100 Years of the Pioneer Organization opened in St. Petersburg

The National Library of Russia (Saint Petersburg) opened the exhibition “First Bonfires’ Flames”, dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Pioneer Organization.

The exhibition reveals the history of the mass youth organization, its ideology, activities, laws, and attributes. It also features the pioneer’s periodicals, like the Pionerskaya Pravda newspaper, as well as Pioneer, Kostyor, Yuniy Tekhnik, Yuniy Naturalist magazines.

The exhibition also displays iconic pieces of pioneer literature, including Timur and His Squad, the Republic of ShKID, Dirk, the Bronze Bird, Vasyok Trubachev and His Comrades, Street of the Younger Son, the Letter on the Shell and others.
