Memory of Russia: The exhibition “Banners of the Great Patriotic War” presented in Tomsk

Tomsk Regional Art Museum presents the exhibition of banners of the war time, marking the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. The exposition will be open in the foyer of the Tomsk Regional Philharmonic for three days, until June 25, 2022.

Specialist of the museum selected 15 banners, well known to those who remembers and appreciates the heroic deeds of the Soviet people in 1941-1945. Visitors to the exhibition will have an opportunity to see banners, such as The Motherland Calls (Irakli Toidze, 1941), Soldier of the Red Army, save us! (Victor Koretsky, 1942), How did you help the front? (Dmitry Moor (Orlov), 1941), Fight the fascist bastard! (Aleksey Kokorekin, 1941), Our cause is just! We will win! (Vladimir Serov, 1941), as well as the banners of Kukryniksy and other agitational materials from the history of the country.

It is hard to overestimate the significance of the banners in the years of war with the German invaders. They inspired soldiers on the battlefields and encouraged workers of the rear to direct all of their power to the front, to Victory.
