Russian and Belarusian schoolchildren, who participate in the military-patriotic project Memory Train, will visit 15 cities, associated with the history of the Great Patriotic War.

«This is the project that had no analogues in the history of Russia-Belarus friendship. We are sure that it will become a regular event and will gain momentum each year», – stated Vice Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Konstantin Kosachyov.

According to him, the route of the Memory Train is thoroughly planned, so that its first half is associated more with the tragic pages of history of 1941, the second half – with the offensive of the Soviet troops and the liberation of territories captured by the German Army.

The train will pass through such Russian and Belarusian cities as Brest, Grodno, Vitebsk, Smolensk, Rzhev, Vyazma, Kubinka (Moscow Region, with the visit of the Patriot Park), Moscow, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Orsha, Mogilev and Gomel. The train will depart on June 22 at 4 a.m. On July 3, it will reach its final destination – Hero City of Minsk.

The project Memory Train was initiated by the parliaments of Russia and Belarus. Its route was planned in a way that allows participants to visit memorable cities in the fraternal countries, explore places of battle glory, visit museums, meet new friends, not only within the project, but also within the Forum of Russian and Belarus Regions.
