Ministry of Defence of Russia launched new historical section Heroes of the First Days of the Great War on its website, marking the anniversary of the Great Patriotic War outbreak.

The section features archive records that reveal the plans of the German Nazi command to pillage and enslave the peoples of the USSR and tell about the tragic and at the same time heroic events in the beginning of the war. 

The documents include excerpts from a German directive: an economic subset of the Barbarossa plan, the so-called Green Folder of Goering, according to which the Nazis intended to turn the occupied territory into a raw material appendage of Germany.

The publication of documents about the beginning of the Great Patriotic War from the Central Archive of the Russian Ministry of Defence aims to protect and to defend the historical truth, to counteract history falsifications and to glorify the heroic feat of the Soviet people.
