IT and Libraries: Books from the library of the Imperial House of Romanov to be digitized in Chelyabinsk

By the end of 2022, the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library will digitize and provide remote access to two books from the library of Duke Peter of Oldenburg of the Imperial House of Romanov.

These are the Sämtliche Werke by German poet Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller, published in Leipzig in the first third of the XIX century, as well as the work by French author and statesman Alphonse Marie Louis de Lamartine titled Harmonies po tiques et religieuses (St. Petersburg, 1830).

Other books, planned to be digitized until the end of the year, include works by remarkable philosophers and scientists. For example, Lyrical experiences and other small compositions in verse by Alexander Vostokov, On lustful illnesses by Johann Friedrich Fritz, General parthology by Philipp Karl Hartmann.

It is planned for all digital copies to be available on the website of the National Electronic Library in the Book Monuments section and on the portal of the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library in the Ural Electronic Library section by the end of the year.
