IT and Culture: The multimedia exhibition “Russian Seasons Forever”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Sergei Diaghilev, presented in St. Petersburg

The multimedia exhibition Russian Seasons Forever has opened in the New Building of the National Library of Russia (St. Petersburg), marking the 150th anniversary of Sergei Diaghilev.

The exposition presents the legacy of the great impresario as a developing phenomenon that nowadays influences many cultural spheres. It tells about the main initiatives, such as World of Art (art association and magazine), Historical Russian Concerts and Russian Seasons. The new approach to the art of the genius is displayed in the exhibition hall via interactive constructions.

All of Diaghilev’s projects were based on books. Books were the sources of ideas, libretto, music, inspiring maestro and his followers to creative work. Magazines, newspapers, books, musical publications, albums from the collections of NLR tell about the meanings and values that Diaghilev has “exported” abroad in order to introduce the world to the rich Russian culture.

The exhibition will run until October 15.
