Internet and Culture: The Museum of Theatre and Music launched an online-project “Collected Stories of the Museum of Music”

The Museum of Theatre and Music has launched an online-project Collected Stories of the Museum of Music in the storytelling format. The project is dedicated to the collection of musical instruments of the Sheremetev Palace, one of the biggest collections in Russia. Internet users will hear stories about instruments that belonged to famous people, great musicians and even emperors.

Authors of the project chose five instruments from the museum’s collections, created original illustrations for them and complemented the stories with musical recordings. Thus, the project features stories about a balalaika of the famous Andreyev orchestra, cellos of Emperor Nicholas II, a beautifully decorated baroque harpsichord, a unique horn orchestra and a pigeon pipe.

The Collected Stories of the Museum of Music are available on the project’s website for anyone who wants to experience the fascinating world of musical instruments online.
