Internet resources: “Yandex” updates its mail service

“Yandex” has given its “Yandex.Mail” a facelift. An updated “Yandex.Mail” has become more compact and efficient due to its transition to AJAX technology. This technology enables users to perform many operations with mail without restarting the page. AJAX is a universally acknowledged standard for web-services used by Google Mail, Yahoo!Mail and Microsoft Hotmail.

“Yandex” has also improved its mail service’s interface. “Yandex”, thus has finished the service’s beta-testing, which had been launched in July 2010. At the initial stage all users had a chance to join the testing.

In November 2010 “Yandex” started to gradually transit its users to a new version of the service. However users were enabled to return to an old one. 0,14% of users of an updated “Yandex.Mail” made use of this option.
