
Russian culture abroad: Russian Center of Science and Culture opens its doors in Rome
Russian Center of Science and Culture is opening on November 24th in Rome. The inauguration ceremony will include presentation of virtual branch of the State Russian Museum and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library’s reading room.
The center will stage exhibitions of high-accuracy copies of paintings and prints by Russian artists showing the views of Italy, along with a unique photo documentary exhibition “From the history of Russian cultural centers in Rome”, provided by Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad.
The new center will operate in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement on status and operation of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in the Italian Republic of November 30 1998.
The Russian Center of Science and Culture will aim to present to the general public in Italy the achievements of Russia in different areas, it spiritual heritage, rich scientific and cultural potential, further bilateral cultural, educational, scientific and technical, business relations, promote teaching of Russian language and cooperation with NGOs and friendship societies.
